Music At Hermannsburg

School Choirs

Our School Choir participates in various events. Choir members are regularly chosen to sing in the KZN Youth Choir and the KZN Midlands Youth Choir. The Choir practises regularly for school and other public functions throughout KwaZulu-Natal.

Individual Instrument Tuition

Individual Music is offered both as a subject and as an interest pursuit. Individual instrument tuition is provided by a team of highly-qualified and motivated teachers. Scholars can choose to enrol with the ABRSM (Royal School of Music), UNISA, or Trinity. Should your child require individual music tuition for these purposes, this is at an additional cost to the parents.

Brass Band

The Brass Band members meet regularly to practise. Some of the members also play in the local church’s brass band. The Brass Band is coordinated by Mr Siegfried Prigge who has been the NELCSA national Brass Brand director, the Chairman of the Evangelical Brass Band Association of Southern Africa (EBBASA) and who regularly travels to Germany for Brass Band conventions.

Chapel Band

Under the able direction of the Music Department, the Chapel Band accompanies morning devotions and some of the Sunday services in the local congregation. We offer a wide range of instruments which can be hired out by music scholars, from violins and wind instruments, to pianos. In total, on campus we have 15 pianos, and our Chapel includes an organ. Our facilities include a music conservatory for group practice, four dedicated music practice rooms, and a music class with a mini-grand piano.

WE WOULD LOVE TO WELCOME YOU TO OUR BEAUTIFUL CAMPUS
